This is a diagram of the Door Lock Control plug. I need to know which number is for which door. There's two wires for each door

I'm assuming it's:

1 & 2 - front driver
3 & 4 - front passenger
5 & 6 - rear left
7 & 8 - rear right

But I don't think it'd be that simple. Does anyone know?

Okay, going from the wiring diagram in the manual I get:

Front Right - Red, white stripe. Blue, Black stripe.
Front Left - Blue, Red stripe. Blue, Black stripe.
Rear Right - Blue, Red stripe. Blue, Black stripe.
Rear Left - Blue, Red stripe. Blue, Black stripe.

But I'm bad at reading wiring diagrams, can anyone confirm it?

I'm guessing Blue-Black is ground. Blue-Red is live for front left and both rear doors and Red-White is live for driver door.

shamefully for car makers no auto electrics are that simple lol. otherwise ide be an auto electrician.

first of all im reading this out of an tr manual.....should be the same for tr / tr / kr / ks. from the wire combinations and all i gather you only have central locking and no ETACS system? cos thats totally different. but seeing as your installing keyless entry i suppose its just normal without.

this is from a gregorys manual so colors are as follows: B = black, L = light blue, R = red, W = white. the main wire color is the first letter and the trace is the second.

RB and LW are conected to B+

RW to the switch in front right actuator position switch

LB is a feed to all actuator motors

LR is the other feed to all actuator motors

B is ground to open / close switches, left hand actuator position switch and appears to be ground to whole system wich makes sence seeing as its black.

now the ones you need to connect the key less entry kit to:

BL is the unlock feed.

BR is the lock feed.

so therefore when BL is grounded, the actuators will unlock and when BR is grounded the system will lock. these are the only wires you should need to touch for the system.

that should get you started.

Just had a look at mine for you and Jay is correct. Refer back to pretzils link in your other post to find the correct colours for your remote control box. We both had some dramas getting it right but its only minor. One thing that does seem to happen with this conversion is that the doors no longer respond to the key being used to unlock the car. I havent tried this but it may be that you need to put a power diode in those two leads to stop back power reaching the control relay. regards Neil

Just a quick thanks to the above posters and especially old Magna for wire colours.

Referred to this thread the other night when installing the keyless entry module of my alarm system and it got me through much quicker than if I'd had to probe around.

Oh... And I've been reading about people having problems using key and central not working... Can't say I had that.problem using the above wires

What remote system did you use?
I always had a suspicion that I could fix the central locking with the key issue by splicing some of the unused wires from the remote system back into some of the unused wires on the original relay, but I was too lazy/happy with it how it is.

Steel mate 838G. $99 @ Jaycar...
Cat no. LA9003 (can view it on Jaycar website)

Just basic and does everything I'm gonna need... No remote start as my Magna is manual

How did you connect it pretzel?

Weird, they don't seem to have my one on their website any more, mine didn't have an alarm or anything, just the remote lock/unlock and I paid about $70.

What is the range like on your remote? Mine was/is insane, like, unlock from anywhere in the house while the cars out on the road.

From memory I think I ended up splicing the blue and green into the BL and BR wires on the relay, and the red into the positive wire on the relay, somewhere on here is my old thread about my install.

I never bothered with anything else but I suspected that with more stuffing around I could've gotten the original keyed central locking back and indicator lights flashing with the unused wires.

Gents,

I'm installing an after market keyless entry that I bought off ebay.
My biggest challenge so far is to locate the door lock control relay. Can anyone who did it before shed some light on this. I know that it's located under the dashboard near the fuse box but is there something that identifies it easily. A picture would be great.

It is behind the plastic kick panel underneath the fuse box........remove the four screws from the bottom door sill panel, then two screws to remove the kick panel. It is right at the front of the bunch of wires, mine was a black box exactly like the picture above.
