My mates Magna when starting up from cold makes a really bad (Deep Grrrr) sound, then he turns it of and starts it again and the sound is gone.
Its on gas and I was thinking maybe it was the injectors or something, since the gas setup starts the car on fuel then switches to gas, oh and if he turns the car to fuel it wont even idle and runs REALLY bad.
He has taken it to some garages and they looked but weren't sure what it was.

Any help would be Awesome :)
Thanks guys.

Blocked injectors? Dirt fuel filters?, try a tank or two on fuel with injector cleaner?

Thanks for the tip, I have been looking around the site for ideas and thought about doing that, but just thought I would ask first :)

If the gas setup turns the fuel pump off when in use then it might be related to that.

I'd be looking more at a loose timing belt and/or the belt adjuster buggered. I seem to remember reading that one of the tests for a loose timing belt is to start it, turn off and start again and sound is gone. I could be 100% wrong however.

There's a known issue with a belt tensioner or something similar causing a really rough sound at startup. Sounds more like a belt flapping than a grrr :)
Mine does it, most often when it's cold outside, and it normally goes away after a few to 30 seconds.

Sounds like timing belt pretensioner, I heard TJTime's before he fixed it... horrible sound.

my mates TJ does this, it goes away if you turn it off and back on again or after like 30 seconds if you leave it on, I thought that was the common lifter noise that's always talked about on here neither of my magnas have done it though

Have covered this many times. Before you crank the car disc the cas. Turn over 10 secs and then reconnect and start

If noise is gone then is pre tensioner ans needs to be changed asap as is doing damage when leftnalone
