Hi There, new to forum.

Story below but if your not interested in that I'm looking for a Sensor (temp I think?)... It screws at a right angle into the thermostat housing. Its got a white plug. (I have a pic but not sure how to post it so I can email it if anyone wants it) Our local wreckers (live in the country) have Magna V6's but there is just a bung in where it should be, so maybe it's only in the Veradas?

Story
My Father has a 1996 KS Verada V6 that is giving him real problems.. car stalls, no power, runs rough, usually happens once the car warms up. He was interstate when it first gave troubles and he took it to a mechanic in canberra who said the fuel pump had given out.. *installed new pump*

Gave trouble getting home..Managed to limp it back... took it to local mechanic.. they said injector filters were clogged beyond belief probabily from a dodgy batch of fuel from his trip to canberra - *new injectors & etc fitted*

Still playing up.. so out come the diagnosis equipment.. after a full day with the car (literally - my father went back in hourly installments each time they were doing something different with it) they firmly believe that the problem comes down to a sensor (temp I think) they said according to the diag equip it's not working right.

Trouble is they can't come up with a new one to put in.. suppliers keep sending the wrong thing, it's been months like this and he really needs a working vehicle. So we're just trying to find one from anywhere.. Can anyone help out?

My father has always worked on his cars in the past, but this has been his first with a computer so he's been scared to touch it.

Also is the Verada computer different to the Magna V6?

I thought that extra sensor was for the climate control......however I am going to the local wreckers tomorrow, if I find one on a wreck I'll grab it and pm you

Just to let everyone know, and to finalise this thread.. It turned out to be a combination of hairline cracks in the dizzy cap, and the timing was out by 30 odd degrees!, apparently it doesn't happen often but it can happen.
