Just where on the engine was the sound taken from - bottom end could be anywhere!

If you mean the diesel sounding grumbling, my car makes the same noise.

It's more the rattle that's not normal.. It gets a little louder half way through the video.. It's only on idle.. I thought it might be like the oil pick up or something..

I'd loosen both belts off and remove, then spin/wobble all pulleys to see if any are loose. Also look closely at the crank pulley. You could also run the engine for a short time without the belts on - if noise is still there it is engine related. Not a loose heat shield?.

After getting the stethoscope on it.. It sounded like a sticky lifter..

I ran some lifter treatment through it.. I'll keep an eye on it.. If it gets any louder I'll take it into the boys at work and have them play with it..

Checked the heat shields.. No rattles or creaks from them.. The noise disappears when you get the revs up.. Noise is only at idle..

I found in my old TF and Corolla.. Wynns Lifter Treatment shut that noise up real quick..

The rattley noise was the worry.. After only just hittin 100k..

But so far so good..
