considering a manual conversion, and just wondering what parts from 2nd gens can be used instead of the third gen counterparts?

Mainly, the gearbox itself? I assume because the 3L 6g72 is similar in both 3rd and 2nd gens the gearbox will be interchangeable?

AFAIK the gearbox cannot be used because the engine in the 3rd gen was rotated 180 degrees from the 2nd gen; moving the gearbox from the drivers side to the passengers side of the car.
