View Full Version : Magna bonnet mod's
Interested in seeing pics of what people have done to their 3rd Gen bonnets. Or even just come across pics of interesting designs.
Scoops, vents, bulges, the lot. Not necessarily all on the one bonnet at the same time. You get the idea. :)

Jason has the back of his bonnet lifted to help let the heat out, but i don't know of much else.

Fleabay, looks like one off an evo 7.
Btw Puck does the vent actually help with performance and temp or is it more of a cosmetic thing?

Given a Lancer is a completely different car with completely different designs and dimensions to a Magna, I'd say it's a safe guess that it wouldn't fit - at the very least, it'd need extensive modification.

On a stock Magna, it's going to make bugger-all difference, as they're not running hot enough to degrade performance.
If you were going to put bonnet vents on, and wanted to get some use out of them, I'd set them up as some sort of CAI.

Neither... it's strictly personal opinion, but the in-your-face wings like the Ralliart don't really suit the TL/TW.

Vents don't really suit the Magna's unless you have a real subtle one like Puck's but I really don't think it would suit much besides a ralliart.

Cheers you basically answered all those questions for me I'm still looking at vents as i have seen another TL/TW model that has had a fair bit of body work done to it and it has a hood scoop which looks okay in my opinion but i prefer vents and as for the CAI im still contacting certain company's to see what thier best offer is as i would be getting several parts to build my own in time, and also looking at getting my bonnet done in either a straight jet black or something different like a carbon effect would look nice and the wing is still a big decision as i know the TL/TW models don't suit as much gear as the previous models but i think the TL VRX rear wing doesn't cut it for me so ill either find a full aftermarket one to fit that's not to heavy on looks or just take the existing wing off =)
