Hey all,
i'm going to be purchasing a quaife lsd for my magna just wanting to get the correct part number?
Also, where is the cheapest supplier for one of these?
Thanks Kurt.

If you'd looked harder, you would have found the thread with the part numbers for the quaife and then another thread from Life about the LSD group buy he is organising...

Part NO# QDH7B-R is the one you need I'm pretty sure out of the 2wd eclipse. I'm not sure if the drive gear needs to be reversed though....

the -R on the end of the part number signifies reversed gear I think

Wavetrac seem to get around but I can confirm 100% that my quaife was awesome. AFAIK no one has actually fitted a wavetrac to a magna yet.

I dont see why it possibly wouldn't fit since its made for the same eclipse model as quaife. It just makes sense to buy wavetrac as its priced in US dollars not the pounds. Given current 105US to 1 AUS its the best time to buy from US

Even better if you join the group buy and get it from an Aust supplier.

well we might have 10 buyers for the wavetrac, so i think dean said there was a price break on 10 units. keep eye out on that thread for the prices. they dont seam too bad.

Lol wavetrac is a bit more advanced LSD than the RA item.

They still do the exact same thing, only difference is if your front end is hanging off the end of a cliff the wavetrack will still spin both wheels while the RA will only spin one. In terms of performance they will act the same on the track.

Plus the fact that Ralliart diffs are over $2,500aud each.
And have no track warranty.
Verses $1000aud each for the other ones, which have a track warranty.
Wonder which is the better buy.

Why would you buy a ralliart lsd if you had a ralliart.... crazy

So you can have more LSD, obviously. 2>1.

That entire article is focused on AWD systems, the Magna's that will be installing these are all FWD with weak differentials known to break regardless of engine and trans if driven hard.

The article has some great information about understanding how these diffs work and the all important TBR. Does anyone know what the TBR ratios of these diffs are?
Can someone explain a limited life time warrenty? Aswell quaifes been proven on all cars that they are the best wavetrac only a new lsd witch has kinda proved itself but definatly not like quaife.

Limited Lifetime is basically a CYA policy to ensure they are not replacing any differentials that were incorrectly installed. They will inspect the diff and look for suspicious damage that may have been caused by an incorrect bearing installation or incorrect differential preload. Provided all is in order regardless of what you were working when it was damaged it will be replaced. I have heard of one breaking, but that was a 800hp V8 - The guy praised Wavetrac's response as they not only replaced it, but they also revised the design based on his damage and released a new version across the range.
