Hey Guys,

I've got a 03 TJ Sports series 2, that just today has started to unlock itself. When I lock the car, either by the remote or the key, it will lock, then instantly unlock again!

If i try it a couple times, it sets the alarm off, and I then have to start the engine just to turn it off...

I'm not very good with the mechanical side of things - it took me a hour to change a headlight globe the other day... Do I need to take it down to the car yard, or is it something I can fix?

I have tried putting the key in and out of the ignition as done on another post, and locking and unlocking each door from inside - but nothing worked...

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks guys.

I had a similar issue with my Th and found that a locking knob on the drivers side door did not turn all the way to the left when locked, it used to sit half way mark
so sometimes it used to flick the other way and open it self. Maybe you have different problem but worth a check.

Usually is the main actuator in the drivers door

Thanks guys. I assume this is something I need the service dept to fix? Is that why the alarm goes off?

I'm not sure if it's related, but the fuel gauge is really slow when you turn the car on, and changes as I drive.

Again, thanks for your help!

Concur with the door lock actuator.
You will find that an internal rubber stop has either deteriorated or fallen off. Clarify the rubber stop is INSIDE the actuator.

1) Easy fix, contact Mal and buy another actuator.
2) Difficult fix, take the actuator out, take apart, fix up the rubber stop and put everything together. If you don't have a good range of tools then do not bother with this.
