hey guys, ive noticed that im missing this "dynamic damper" on the engine mount.
is it important?
also the things that look like little bumpstops on the cross member, i seam to have a little movement in the cross member, im thinking its because these things may have been squashed over time, if i place a jack under the cross member a gap opens up between the bolt head and the stops, even tho the bolts are done up tight, if i replace them could the engine rock be eliminated?
ive replaced all mounts now, the front roll stop is a ploly one, and i still have a small rocking motion.

I seem to be missing that too, weird. Seen it on a TF(?) though, was it another thing that got dropped as models progressed?

I don't have it! Looks like a "cap" on top of the engine mount

I'm guessing if most of us don't have it, it mustn't be too important, right?

Always wondered why i had holes there in both my tjs. Figured it must have been something that could be mounted there as a factory option or something.

It's a lump of rubber tuned to dampen engine mount vibration at a specific rpm- its part of NVH tuning, guess it didn't work too well, so they deleted it. Third gen seems to have some problems in that department that the second gen didn't have. Meh. My exhaust has a resonance at 1,200 rpm when cold, I can live with it.
Rear diff of a AWD has one attached to it, first gen had a lump of rubber/metal attached to the body work near the radiator. Lancer has a doughnut on one of the drive shafts. Probably others if you look hard enough.
