Hey guys on my Mitsubishi TL VRX Magna i currently have a Mercury muffler with the standard piping with no Resonator and Hurricane Extractors and been looking at doing a duel setup spoke to my mate and he wants to do the same size pipe on the left side with 2x Redback Mufflers with the required mods to fit the piping....does anyone have Red backs? that can tell me if these produce a nice deep note? i will have 2x + no resonator + the Hurricane Extractors so hopefully it will sound nice just want opinions Cheers Chris.

Or if anyone can recommend a different muffler to go with that would fit? I'm looking for a very loud note keep in mind there will be no Resonator and Hurricane Extractors

Wont it be droney with no resonators?
And when you say twin do you mean from the extractors all the way back or just the standard system split near the back somewhere? Cause you wont get any increase in performance it will just be money spent to have two tips coming out the back.

Been looking at the X Force Mufflers cause they seem to be loud as im looking for but the main problem im concerned is since i didn't research it and took off my resonator a while back i should of kept it on, looked at a exhaust note on you tube this guy is running a 4.5 X force muffler with high flow resonator and High Flow Cat think this is the way to go probably just need to add the Resonator back on if this will help less drone....

I would think that the exhaust note also differs depending on the engine...

Also, it depends what the rest of the exhaust system is, which can affect the exhaust note.

Put it this way. At first, I had piping replaced from the cat back with 2.5" piping, and just a straight through hotdog in the middle, and split into 2 2.5" piping before the rear axle to each side with small straight through mufflers. It sounded good, but bloody droney as hell. (ie coins vibrated and danced around in the coin box in the dash)

Then I got sick of it, and replaced the cat with a high flow cat, and replaced the piping at the back to 2" where it splits, to 2 redback mufflers. And it sounds quite sweet and not as much drone....

So the note can change with each change you make. Its tough to say what will sound good...

Im happy with redback.

Yeah cheers mate i spoke to my mate again today he is fairly keen on doing the Red Backs and he said with the free flow system i have and an updated one would be loud enough for my taste he reckons and he is charging me only $400 for 2x red back mufflers and the custom piping on the left side plus cutting larger holes with 2 new tips so im guessing that's a good deal =)

I have a redback muffler too. Everyone who I drive in my car says that it sounds bloody nice. I have the stock system with all stock resonators except for the redback muffler at the back. No drone when when cruising, and minimal drone when accelerating too. But it still has that sweet deep note. I was addicted to the throttle when I drove it out of the exhaust shop haha. However I still don't know why you would want to take the reso off though...

Cheers for the information mate and it was a rookie mistake taking advice from mates who drive Commodores LOL
