View Full Version : Baffle tanks
Hay all
I was looking into doing custom baffles to my sump for better oil pickup ive heard of people doing this to there 380s but not 6G74 motors. I heard its a good idea if u push your car around corners or on a track witch im going to be doing soon. Anyone no of were to go and how much?

I read about things like that ages ago, and also windage trays with teflon crank wipers. I think the general idea was that yes, theyre ok, but a dry sump setup is better and with enough pump pressure to create enough vacuum in the case it brought the windage down a lot too, except with too much reduction in splashing oil some parts don't get lubricated or cooled enough.
Do ralliart magnas have a better baffle for there sumps. Also did they upgeade there fuel baffle also?

Fuel tank has an extra baffle in it AFAIK. I've never heard of a magna/380 spinning a bearing on the motor. Even on track spec'd magnas (IPRA magnas), I've never seen or heard of extra baffles made for the oil sump which is pretty decent considering lots of RB26's from R32/33/34 GTR's seem to spin bearings when taken out to a track/been given a flogging on the street due to crap oil sump/pump/oil gallery design
I've heard of a few spinning bearings......the IPRA Magnas do have a modified sump baffle!
