View Full Version : Newbie: Few questions which probably have been answered :)
Hey guys,
How is every1?
I currently own a a white, 1996 TE Altera.
I've noticed some wear on some of the plastics, so ive decided to paint them white.. to well, bring the outside in. :)
In doing this I stumbled accross your website while looking for ideas:)
I have just have a few questions,
I love the look of the VR-X rear bar. In the end ill probably get the odds and ends that makeup the rest of the kit, Sideskirts, Over Fenders etc...
just curious if u can just get the rear bar extention off that kit or do you need to purchase the whole rear bar?
I went to my local exhaust place, I can get a Redback straight through Muffler installed for $264. curious how this compares to other peoples?
Im also after the model number of the K&N Rampod filter thats designed for the MAS sensor, and if it comes with the adaptor, if not whats the part number for the adaptor. and how much should i be paying for it?
The Fule pressure regulator is next on the adgenda after i get these items fitted. But i want one where i can have the guage inside the car possibly mounted on the A piller if possible.. dunno if it is possible? :)
Im sure ill have plenty of questions after this, excuse the lengthy post and thanks in advance,

You can get the vrx body kit done, try www.ssv.com.au
The exhaust sounds like a good price, is it cat back only?

You're in Melbourne too! We have a couple of Melbourne Magnas here, we could meet up sometime soon since the holidays are coming up :D
If you want mods, have a look at the AM Online Stall or www.rpw.com.au
I have those mods that you intend to do, you are free to come have a look :D

As said above, the VRX kit can be bought in full from www.ssv.com.au and the rear bar AFAIK is a whole bar

Are you after loudness, performance or a bit of both? The Lukey LR2779 is a fantastic one, modelled on the VRX muffler, gains up to (and beyond in some cases I've heard) 9kW
Im also after the model number of the K&N Rampod filter thats designed for the MAS sensor, and if it comes with the adaptor, if not whats the part number for the adaptor. and how much should i be paying for it?
The part number I'm unsure of but go to www.rpw.com.au and they will have it there. You will have to email David Thomas for pricing though.

I know it'd look cool...but (not dissing your idea here) it's not entirely practical as you'd need to see the guage as you're adjusting the pressure.
Unless you want to somehow hook it up so you can adjust the pressure from inside? But I think that might require a heap of work? I dunno..never come across the idea before! lol But it's always good to think new ideas..that's how it all works!
Im sure ill have plenty of questions after this, excuse the lengthy post and thanks in advance,
Im sure you will :) Just like we all do! :) And we'll all be here to help.
Welcome aboard!

Thanks guys,
its always good to receive a warm welcome :)
The reason i ask about the product code for the pod filter is that i know some1 who works at autobarn who can get it in for me.
All i have to supply is the model number to save myself a few dollers :)
hrmm cant seem to find it on SSV website, this is the bar im after:

SSV's product code for the VR-X skirt is 1199, cost $475
its a bit hard to find because they have so much stuff.. on the exterior accessories page change the Display box to show 1043 products per page so you can see them all at once.. then just use your browser's find function to look for VRX. you'll get there eventually :)
