Pull the yellow surround towards you
Grab the fuse puller thats on the cover for the fuses in the driver's footwell
Use to remove said fuse's in yellow surrounded box
It is alittle tricky trying to remove theses ones cause of the clips, but can move them off with the tool so you can remove the fuse

Sorry to hijack and also dig up and old thread... but I tried this and the yellow surround wouldn't budge. At all. Any ideas on how to get it out? Are there meant to be clips on there that may have broken off?

Try this:

if anyone is still interested in solving this problem, i had it shown to me today.
The whole yellow section can be pulled out about half an inch which unlocks the fuses, then they can be pulled out by seperating the little locking arms either side

Tried that. The yellow thing wont budge at all. Not an inch. Seems its just living up to everything else on my car... clearly the previous owners couldn't care less about looking after the car so almost everything that could be, is broken...

My brother is a mechanic, might send it up to him and let him sort it out...

Thanks for the help though.

Does anybody know what purpose the yellow plastic surround serves?

its for the transport fuses.
When the car comes to the dealer those fuses arent pushed in, so it wont have a battery drain from holding the clock memory, ecu memory, radio ect. Stops the battery going flat between the factory and the several holding yards, customs, slow boat ride ect, until it makes it to the selling dealer.
During the pre delivery inspection the fuses are pushed into place.
The yellow clip makes it easier for the tech to locate it and to push the fuses in together.
It also prevents anyone from pulling the fuses accidentally, maybe on the side of the road swapping them around ect
