So, was driving up mt buller this morning. When I stopped at the top the oil warning light was flashing intermittently. Went away with revs but then came back. After about 30 secs it extinguished and didnt return. Something to look into or just small hiccup after laboring up the mountain?

Just check the engine bay out, possibly get a quick mech inspection if you aren't the best with cars. Other then that check your levels and colours of fluids.

Oil may have thinned out too much after a long climb like that. Check your level and for any leaks before panicking. Fresh oil after this though, the oil sounds like its been pushed to the limit. And to be sure give it an oil pressure test.

Have you checked the oil level? When was your last oil change? May be time for some new good quality oil and a filter.

Serviced 2000km ago using fuchs synthetic blend from the usual mechanic. I checked the level as soon as I parked and its still full and clear. Hrmm weird

After you've ruled out the mechanical aspects (check those first as they can be the most critical), it may be worth looking at the oil pressure switch. I don't know where these are located on the third gen engine, but i've seen aftermarket replacements so they must be there somewhere. :P

They're down by the oil filter, on the housing. Probably the easiest thing to change on a Magna lol

Awesome, noted for future reference. :)

To my knowledge the light goes on at 15psi, which is quite low.
As oil warms up and becomes thinner it's normal for pressure to drop but 15psi is still low.
I would get it checked out like someone said with an oil pressure gauge to see how fast it rises and what it's peak is etc. I know there are some rubber o-rings which are mounted somewhere in the oil pickup which can harden and cause issues.
