Okay so i saw this thread a while ago and tried finding it again but i couldnt.
It said something about putting a fiberglass fill under it first to make it smooth and shiny.

He said something about filling it then sanding and spraying or something like that. I was just wondering how i would get that type of coat. ( i am sanding my green paint off it today so it will be nice and clean.

For what its worth mate why not just pick up another one from the wreckers? $10-$20 saves you sanding and creating a rough surface to begin with, personally i dont think you need filler to create a smooth surface, you just need a decent high gloss paint and be carefull wile spraying ,build it up with thin layers of paint and dont rush, and if you feel the need maybe even a clear coat to finish it off.
through my own experience the thicker the build up of paint wile useing aerosole's the wavy-er it will be, dont spray to close to the console.
