Hi all
I have just picked up a chromatic mirror + sun visor + wiring loom set for my 380 Platinum, should arrive this week hopefully. Has anyone done this changeover and can offer some tips? The main issue will be the sunroof wiring I think.
Cheers.

Here's a bit of help, I think I wired mine of the under side of the Lighter plug, as I dont use the lighter. Fuse it too.
I ran the wire up the a pillar and across just tucking it under the roof linig near the winscreen, but you could use the Acc. controlled power to the cabin light. ( Maybe not, not sure if there is a light forward of the sunroof, should be tho)

And Search is beautiful forum feature.

I dont know why it is not just plugged into the std harness points in the junction box, that is what i do

I would strip the sun roof wires (only 3 wires from memory) out of the existing harness, then take out the original lighting harness. Keep note of where the sunroof wires pin in, pin them in and tape to the new harness and simply use tape to re attach to the roof harness

If it is the one you got from my ebay store, it is on its way, if you need a few tips feel free to give me a call when they arrive

You will aslo need a torx screwdriver to tighten thenew mirror as they have a grub screw to stop rattles etc

Assuming you're mitsfix, then yeah I just bought one from you :)
At the moment it's hard to visualize, once the new rig actually arrives and I pull the roof lining down I will get a better idea about what's going on, but cheers for the offer of advise, hopefully I won't need it though :P

Madmagna - Good to see you are suppling the loom, unfortunately around here usually the 'loom' means the plug and 3 inches of wire.

Lol, there is one big difference, when I supply this sort of thing I always supply the complete intact loom so is as close to being plug and play as I can get it

I have also for those needing to know checked an ES I have here, all of the required plugs are there in the junction box ready to go, it seems that for the most part the main loom was fairly common across the ranges with exception only to the centre display wiring

Have pulled the roof lining down to look underneath and had a look where the loom goes in to the fuse box.
First thing I noticed is the wiring is a bit different on the plugs in to the fuse box - I connected up anyway and did some testing with a multimeter.
I get +12V to the positive pins going to the sun visors, however the lights in the visors don't seem to be working, no matter which way I have the mirror cover/visor alignment.
I also connected the mirror at the same time and confirmed power is getting to the mirror, but again it doesn't seem to do any thing (there's no power light/indicator on it so maybe it is but I just can't see it.)
The blue/grey plug (which I assume goes to the dome light) I haven't connected yet since I am still working out the best way to get the roof lining down that far past the sunroof. Not sure if this has to be connected in order to complete the circuit for the mirror/visors?
There's a single 4-pin connector on the new loom (with three slots used) which I assume would go to the lights next to the sunglasses holder - on my loom there's a 7-pin instead (obviously with extra wires for sunroof controls) and another 7-pin connector going to the sunroof itself.
I'm gonna need to pull both looms out of the car I think, and test for continuity to work out which wires I need to move across on to the new harness, but it looks like I will need to move two of the plugs as well.

EDIT Oh yeah, also having a b**** of a time getting the old mirror off - it's the type without a torx screw and two slots a the top.

Okay almost completely done, every thing works as it should, the only thing I haven't been able to do is get the existing mirror off :( No matter ho much I stick screwdrivers in to the slots at the top, I just can't seem to get it to release.

Hi
Yep I have the workshop manual. Hasn't helped though. I have gone in with a screwdriver in every opening I can find with no luck. There are two slots at the e top of the mount (towards the roof) but I haven't been able to get anything with those. I have also come in from the bottom but haven't had luck this way either.
I might just take it to a Mistubishi dealer during the week and get them to remove it for me if I still have no luck.

So I took the car to Agostino Mitsubishi this morning, and they had the mirror off in about a minute. They used what look like a modified pair of needle-nose pliers, and a few taps with a hammer.
The new mirror is now fitted and works great! All I need is a chromatic drivers side mirror now lol :)
