Hi guys,

Just inherited a 99 TH Magna Solara Wagon from my mum who has gotten a new car, and the driver's side front power window doesn't work.

I've had a bit of a look at it (as much as I can by only taking off the front door panel and speaker) and from what I can see, the motor still pulls the cable fine, but it looks as if the cable has come away from actually being attached to the window itself.

Before I took the next level of door panel off, I wanted to find out if anyone knows if this can be reattached, or will I require to get a whole new power window system?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

Sounds like you need a new regulator.

Pop into a friendly O'Brien branch and i'm sure they will fix it up for you

Just to make sure I've got it right (I'm still a novice when it comes to car repairs) the regulator is the bit the runs the length of the door as a guide to where the window should be sliding?

The cable from the motor attaches at the top and the bottom of the rails in the door with little clips to keep the wire tensioned (It attaches just before the little 'wheels', and then the wire goes around the 'wheel' and attaches onto the sliding mechanism of the power windows).... it this what has come off?

I believe so, as when attempting to put the window down or up the cable tightens, it just doesn't appear to be attached to the window at all anymore. And I spoke to O'Brien, its apparently not something they can do
