Short answer is No. The 6g74 has different fuel and timing maps to the 6g72.

why would you want to do that anyway, it is pretty much the same ECU (obviously different progammed maps though, but both would be optimised (to a stock sort of way) for either engine... so changing from one to the other would not help at all! a after market piggy back or replacement ECU however will help!
hey thanx or your help guys
why? well i dun wanna spend too much money modifying, spend my money on my other car 300zx baby

how are the maps different tho. they cant be toooo different. they both have the same sensors and AFM

it would prob cost more to change ecu's than to put on a piggyback ecu on a 3L

Yep I'm with stupid lol
And chances are since the ecu is learning, it'd adjust itself to pretty much what it was with the old one anyway. I think you'd end up with more trouble than it's worth. Invest in a greddy or unichip.

Well the 3.5 runs 10 degrees BTDC timing and the 3l runs 13 ... :)

Do they? Interesting. Wonder if that means the 3.5 has more potential for gains from that area?

Well I am fairly sure the injectors are the same, so for a given RPM the base fuel map must be a little higher on the injector duty cycle!! :)
