Hey everyone,
So my brakes are getting a little old, and im looking at replacing them.
I need new rotors (at least on the front but why not do rears too) and obviously pads.
Ive been trawling through eBay and such looking for the best Value for money solution.
From what I've seen even just "blank" AWD rotors arent terribly cheap, so was basically wondering what other people have done and how much?
Have considered EVO 8/9 brakes on the front, will they bolt straight on? If not what mods need to be made?
Thanks in advance for your help :)
Joseph.

Mits-Fix sell standard RDA brand AWD rotors for $200 for a pair, which is pretty good value. Couple that with a set of QFM HPX pads ($80 for a front pair, $80 for rear pair) and you'd be set. This would be the best value upgrade IMO. The QFM HPX pads have got a good reputation for being suited to spirited driving, plus they aren't as dusty/noisy as other performance pads.
Evo 8/9 brakes will work, but I believe you need a new pair of brake lines made up. However, your main concern is their fitment. They are substantially larger than the standard Magna/380 brakes, and your wheels may not fit over them.

That sounds quite good actually lol..
With the Evo brakes idea id be getting new lines and everything, and clearance will not be an issue, just got a new set of Drag Dr-33 18" wheels which would easily clear the brembo's, theres enough room to park a truck in the gap between my stock calipers and the rim atm :p haha
Thanks for the suggestion, might give Mal a message :)

I'd say get slotted rotors. The gain over blank rotors is rather noticeable. Unlike what TuffTR was saying a while back.
I went with DBA 4000 series slotted rotors when my originals were unsafe to be machined again.
Cost was about $700 including pads and mechanic's time.
I honestly can't say I notice any difference in performance. But mine is AWD and behaves quite differently I think.
They do look a bit better than plain discs, but then again, I have 18" wheels and even the AWD discs look too small, so looks aren't that great now :)
