Hi guys i just picked up my first Magna yesterday. My friends have had them and they have always been my choice over a Commodore like all the other bogans i know :)

Anyway my question is i have 2 young girls and i want my new stereo to be practical and more aimed at towards keeping them entertained in the car than myself. I have found a high chair for the girls that has built in speakers that can connent into a headphone jack. so i am torn between getting head rest dvds or a roof mount dvd that will plug into it. I dont want to use head phones coz the girls are to young and hate having things on their heads.

So do all car dvd players have head phone jacks. and what brands are good?

I got two Headrest DVD Players off Ebay.... 7" screens, with built in Speakers, with SD and USB inputs as well.... Has A/V in and out as well, so my kids either watch the Same DVD on the Two Headrests, or each watch their own DVD, whilst Myself and the Wife can listen to our own Tunes up Front...

Sounds like what i need. But i have noticed they are all in vinyl and i have a fabric interior so might look a bit funny. Guess i can always have them recovered.

My Interior is also Fabric, but the Colour on Mine is so close, (Grey), you don't really Notice..

I am thinking i might get the roof mount dvd player and cover it in a wood grain finish that way it will look like i a factory fitted item and i can run the wiring to the kids seats through the roof lining back behind the back seat and it will be hidden when i dont have them in the car and less likely to be seen buy potential thieves in a car park.

Now to find the right one.

wow a peer presured magna driver...thats a first rofl :D

anyways i personaly do NOT recommand those seats you have looked at, i spoke to the local baby bella store owner about them today while i was in looking at cots and he suggested only buying them if i dont value my childrens hearing.....fair enough what sort of budget are you setting aside for this dvd player and are you installing yourself?

I thought the seats would be good coz my girls dont like to keep things on their heads. i could always put some kind of volume control some wear in the connection.

I am planning to spend around 2 to 3 hundred on the dvd player. And yes i will instal it myself, i have done all my own instals but this one will be a bit more extensive than ones i have done before. Might need to post on here when i have all the stuff together to make sure i do it right

How are you running the system? Are you going to have a DVD capable headunit or not? Afaik, if your screens are headrest mounted, they have to be run off a DVD capable headunit. But some of the roof mount screens will feature an inbuilt DVD player too, which means its audio and video runs completely separate to the headunit and the car speakers.

If your budget is $200-300 you're not going to get very far - depending on what you're after, I'm not sure if you can even get eBay cheapies for that price. Brand name DVD systems aren't cheap; for example the cheapest JVC double DIN DVD headunit retails at $830, and a 10" Alpine roof mount screen (without DVD playback) is $1100.

The budget for the whole system is about 2 grand but i have seen roof mount dvd players for around 2 to 300. I am in two minds about a double din dvd head unit as i dont want distractions up fron but i have found a good pioneer one i can get on ebay for half the rrp and has dvd blutooth and all the bells.

These are what I have......DVD Headrest (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Headrest-2-X-7-Car-Monitor-Pillow-2-DVD-Player-GAME-/120572347960?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c12ac0638#ht_9441wt_933)

Once the Zipper is closed, you cannot tell there is a DVD player in the Headrest.

Also, watch out with the Roof Mounted DVD players, as when the Screen is Down, you will be restricted to what you can see through you rear view Mirror...

What colour seats do you have and how well do the headrest colours match them?

having kids ur best getting the headrests, as kids do like to fight over what they watch
