View Full Version : rear subframe removal

To take out the rear subframe, is it:
4 bolts on upper control arm, 3 nuts on strut top under parcel shelf, 2 nuts under the frame, and the bolt at an angle behind the plastic flap with the (+) shape on it, repeat on other side?
Or am I missing something important?

That's basically it. You'll also need to disconnect the brake lines, handbrake cable and the abs sensors (if you have abs).

oops forgot about them. ill do that before I take off the last few bolts then.

How do I get the rear ABS sensor off the hub assembly? Undid the bolt but it won't budge with pulling or twisting or levering/light taps with a flat screwdriver? Can't find much info in the service manual other than an exploded view. Also having trouble getting the handbrake cable off the hook far enough to remove it since it hits the metal on the other side before its all the way off the tooth. Will have another go with some proper pliers though.
