Just wondering... recently i have been having issues with the fuel gauge.
Previously i used to drive around 80km and the level would drop slightly.
At around 250 - 300 kms the gauge would read half way...
At around 400kms (per tank) i would get the fuel light start to come on, which seemed right.

Recently the gauge is out of whack, and wont budge off full until at least 150kms and is over half full at 300km and i dont get the low fuel light at around 10 litres remaining but fuel light works.

I have replaced the Fuel Sender in the fuel tank, and to no avail.
The only thing i have done was replace dash globes with LED ones.
Would the fuel gauge be faulty or could it be something else.
How would one eliminate the faulty gauge or have it fixed or recalibrated short of changing the whole cluster?

Any suggestions?

I don't know about the change in figures, but I know the odd differences between what the needle shows and what is actually in the tank has always bugged me. When I first drove my car and got like 350km for the first half of the tank I was amazed and was looking forward to my 700km on a single tank. Alas the last 1/2 tank disappeared in the next 120km - 150km. The non linear nature of the gauge has made me consider adding some electronics in between the sender and the cluster to compensate.

I always assumed that's just how it was for Magnas

I wonder if you bumped the fuel needle by mistake when replacing the dash L.E.Ds. Does your fuel gauge move at all when the tank is close to empty? or does it still show that there is no fuel?

I changed the back dial cards from black to white at one point and had to remove the needles to to do that and at first my fuel gauge didn't move at all. Turns out I had pushed the needle in too hard and couldn't move. What I did was remove the needle, fill the tank up to FULL. then put the needle back pointing at F just enough so it could move again. I observed it over the upcoming days and it works normally now. Does take a little fiddling because its really sensitive and I'm not sure thats the best way to do it but it might help you.
