Greetings All.

Ok guys, I wanna buy a Sub within the next 10 weeks (Damn debits that get in the way!!).
I will only really have a budget of around $190~$230 (excluding box & amp), and I kinda want a pair of 12's...15's would be too big...and 10's are out due to the fact that im not a fan of them. I wanna start with just one sub for now, and the build apon that as i start to get more $$$.
So guys, i have a Pioneer DEH-P4650MP H/U, but my system needs more thump. (stock speakers going hard, but just aint cuttin' :D ) . Another issue is how am I going to set the subs up, with only one preout? What about a decent amp? What would you guys recommend?

Ideas?

Forget 2 12s if you only have that much money; better off buying one decent 12"... Perhaps a JL 12W0 or the Hertz Power 12"...

Just run the amp for the subs off the pair of pre-outs on the head unit; they'll be for the rear channel but that's OK (except your sub will be linked to your rear speakers if you want to fade front to rear). Good quality entry level amps are from Coustic, Cadence, JVC; anything around 1x150WRMS to 200WRMS bridged will run the above subs well.

gotta agree with tek. Go one twelve, probably a JL Audo 12W0, Fusion Encounter or a Cadence UltraDrive. Power it with a Cadence or Fusion amp too, these guys are really bringin out some good entry level stuff. But please don't go with Jaycar.. please.. Very low price but remember that w/car audio you get what you pay for.

Greetings All.

Im not sure if you guys misread or if i just explained myself wrong...im starting off with one 12" for now, then I am going to buy a second later on. Ill be spending $190~230 for the speaker itself, no box, no amp...that comes later. Im looking at some ALPINE mono block amps for powering the both...

Cheers,

Tonba, before anyone can seriously recommend you a sub they'll need to know what genre's of music you listen to as certain subs are suit certain genre's better.

Brand's I am going to recommend from the outset include:

Boston GS12
Phoenix Gold ZR12
Herx HX300
Diamond M312
Image Dynamics ID12
Vibe Blackair 12
Digital Dynamics 2012

There are a few to get you started champ. :)

++++2 12's isnt necessarily better than 1 quality 12.

I would look into a Cadence Beastmaster..

I think they are around $250..

Greetings All.

First off, thanks for trhe quick replys, but I have a Question.
Ive heard Lightning Audio make fairly good speakers...True or False?
Cause the certainly have a bit of bling factor. :D

Also, as to the types of music im into; Punk, Rock, Hip-Hop, Country, Rap, J-Pop, Pop...thats all that comes to mind at the moment.

Thanks For The Quick Replys!
