howdy guys
freaking long time i know since i updated my rides thread and ill leave it for now but im in the midst of finishing my coilover conversion to my 2ndGen Verada. The coilovers are from a 3rd gen.
i need to know if the shock shaft are the same for the 3rd gen and 3nd gen with regards to keyway/ grove in the thread? To save the hassle i thought about just changing spring hats/top hats from the 3rd gen to the 2nd gen as the 3rd has 3 bolt hats and the 2ndgen haas 2 bolt hats. The shaft looks to be same diameter but it may have a different keyway which woudl require me drilling out the strut towers to 3bolt.
Ive already overcome the 1st issue being that the eyelet bolt for the 3rd gen and 2nd gen mount the shock to the suspension components differently due to solid rear vs indepandant rear suspension types. I needed a steel bush made that was 18mm outside diameter and 12mm inside diameter (from memory)
If i have to drill out the strut towers i will weld a 3mm steel ring to the top side of it for increased rigity since it will then have 5 holes in it.
thanks in advance
Lionel
