The other day I was wondering round the wreckers looking for cool additions for my car whilst looking for wheels for my mate's TL. I then stumbled upon a black KJ Verada with those tail lights with the chrome strips. They looked rather nice and I thought if I got them tinted they would look even better. However people I talk about it to have all different opinions about the 'rada tail lights. My dad says they make the car look like a grampa car, other people say they look nice. So whats everyones opinions on the 'rada tails lights? Now I only want them if you can tint them. So my other question is can you actually tint tail lights? Also this wrecker wanted a fair bit for them ($80 per light) but I will try to talk him down to $50-60 per light. I think thats a bit of a steep price for used tail lights, what do you guys think of that?

Sweetaz. So like a tint film or a paint? And shit $110 a light! You can get sports chrome, altezza or tinted ones on ebay for round $200 a pair brand new! So which lights do you like better, the 'rada ones or the magna ones on the TJ-TW/KJ-KW?

The Chromatic mirror is a blessing, works very well at dimming those high 4wd lights. Also if you get it, get the drivers mirror too as that is chromatic and works with the rear view mirror.

If you can get the lights for $120-140 then that will be a good buy. Try them out - if you don't like them, you can always sell them on. You do know you will need to modify the lights to fit the reverse light bulb?

Are you serious when you say that the wreckers want a bit for them at $80 each, I sell them to the TRADE customers for $125 each, that is dealers and body shops At $80 each they are a bargain

Yes, I am sure you can get NON ADR compliant illegal imported rubbish for that much, but these are genuine and new price was over $400 each so at $80 or more it is not a bad price. Just because the car costs peanuts to buy, does not mean that the parts and mods also cost peanuts

As for opinion, no ones opinion matters except yours, if you like them, get them, if you dont, leave them there for someone who does

Seriously, I got my pair of KJ tails, KJ boot and all the carperts from the boot for $70.00 only. I felt like winning a lottery

Why not go for the KW GTVi lights from wreckers which already come factory tinted like mine. Note that you'll need a separate reverse light as the radas have reverse lights in the boot. You could also go for the TW VRX/AWD lights which are also tinted in the same way. AFAIK, fitting TJ/KJ and prior lights may require mods to boot lid etc as they don't quite line up or have gaps.

Leave the KJ lights for somebody with good taste.

The KJs would look OK tinted on your car, but non untinted. They would pretty dull and inferior to the standard TL ones IMHO. Sporty look is probably a better move.
