What brembos will fit on a 3rd gen wagon? Front and rear
Are they a direct bolt up and are the rotors just a straight fit?
Cheers

There's a few threads on this already from a while ago.
From memory Evo 5-9 Brembos will fit.
For the fronts they are a direct bolt on, lines and all. You just have to remove the stock Magna dust cover off the hub.
As for rears, you need the 3.8mm spacer for the Ralliart/AWD rears. Other than the spacer you need custom lines made as well as grinding a step into the rear dust cover (or removing it altogether).
You also need wheels that fit them obviously.

Aren't Ralliart/AWD rears the same as the standard ones?
Would a Ralliart need anything other than the lines and taking a hammer to the dust cover?
Wonder how difficult the lines are to do.

To the OP not sure where your trying to source the Brembo's from but try www.evolutionm.net if your not on there already, you should be able to get a full set for $750 delivered.

EvolutionOz is the one you're looking for, EvoM is American.
As for finding a full set of Evo Brembos front and rear with pads, rotors and lines for 750 delivered...
Just last week a set of calipers only went on eBay for 750.
The average I've seen for an entire set is around 1.2 - 1.5 grand with pads/rotor condition unknown.
Sure I paid a lot less than that (I'm guessing you did too) for my set with good rotors and pads,
but that was just insanely good luck as well as jumping through hoops to get them.
There's always this lol (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Brembo-Caliper-Decal-EVO-STI-WRX-Supra-GTR-Silvia-R33-/150576477953?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item230f0eb701)
7 sold in there alone, I wonder how many hundreds of wankers have these on their cars.

Ralliart/AWD rears are bigger than standard rears, for the non RA/AWD models custom lines and a hub spacer is required to fit the RA/AWD rears.
Don't know if the rears for Brembos are bolt onto an RA (minus lines and messing with dust cover).
Logic would say yes but I'm not the one to confirm anything.
Any good brake shop will be able to make the lines up for most configurations.

Yes evoM is american but the advantages are there; sets pop up more frequently, lower prices eg. i paid $500US for more my evo 9 brembo's front and rear with pads and $250 for postage, exchange rate also helps.I just checked what Harty paid for his complete set including calipers, lines, pads and rotors yer i was a little off with the total price being $900 landed.

$900 for a full set, sounds like he got a nice find.
I'm guessing there was no rotors with your set? Still, a great price for an Evo 9 set.

No rotors which was fine with me as i found a great price on a set DBA4000'S so just calipers and pads, yer i was pretty happy with the price at the time :)
If you're patient ebay USA is your friend. I got mint front calipers off an Evo9 with the lot for AUS. $44O delivered.

I'll see how I go with eBay, then look at joint the forums and post a WTB if they have that section like us, was there any difference from 5-9?

I've just tracked down some evo 8 calipers and brake lines for 500 mulla AUS(after change rate) , so to get them to fit, the dust covers need to be re bent/cut? The caliper is just a straight bolt on? For the front
For the rear, dust cover needs to be modified or removed? Caliper is a straight up bolt on? Need a custom brake line? Why can't I use the stock evo 8 rear lines? And need spacers for the rotors?

Did you read any of this?
500 for lines and calipers is an alright price, not an amazing price.
You gotta remember a set of rotors and pads on the Brembos cost a helluva lot more than for Magnas.

Thats right,,,one thing thinking you have the calipers for what ever money you get for them, but you then will have to factor in ,at least another $500,i think ,just for one set of pads and discs,so its not that cheap an exercise.
You will really have to weigh up the cost, use and "hey wow ive got Brembos " mindset to the value of getting a set of 380 front brakes.
If you dont track you car ,i dont see much point.

:yeahthat:
Take away the wank factor of having brembos and look at what you need to stop...
380 upgrade would do most Magna's great.... unless your planning on adding some PSI :)

380 package is definitely enough for most people.
If you've still got standard brakes on your Wagon it might be a bit hard to explain.
Only advice I can offer you is to get into someones car with the RA brake upgrade and also the 380 brake upgrade and you'll realise the huge differences they are from standard single pots.
Brembos are another massive leap from that, like Maggie said unless you're tracking it's overkill.
PS I'm not tracking (yet?), I just got my set for dirt cheap lol

Also, the front wheels will be an issue as far as clearanc goes, only a few wheels will fit over the Brembo

I can get a set of rims that would clear evo brakes easy, I guess I need to drive someone's car here in SA with the 380 brakes? :)

I had a set of 380 calipers/RDA rotors/QFM HPX pads installed on my Magna just a week ago, and I have to say, I'm a tiny bit disappointed in them.
Don't get me wrong, it's a fair upgrade from standard, and it at ~$550 from Mitsfix, represents a good value upgrade.... but yeah, I was hoping for a little more. Doesn't help that I spent the week before driving my dad FPV F6X which comes standard with 6 piston Brembos calipers with 355mm rotors :ninja:
While the 380 upgrade would be more than enough for most people (myself included), if you're really into your spirited driving, I don't think a Brembo upgrade would be excessive.

Wheels to clear Brembos aren't hard to get...
Find anything to fit Evos.
Keep off-set to suit a Magna in mind though!

Wrong.. There as still EVO aftermarket wheels that require a 3mm wheel spacer to fit on the EVO. There isnt many wheels out there to cover the Brembos. Just ask the people you have fitted them.

As said above, you got to keep the offset suitable for a Magna, though. Lots of EVO wheels out there, but they've got offsets of between 30+ & 20+. No real chance of them fitting our cars.
Also, there's a lot of wheels out there that 'say' they fit EVO's, in an offset to suit a Magna; most don't. I had to replace my 'Brembo compatible' wheels as they quite simply didn't fit without the need for a spacer!
That said, you can find them, some reasonably cheaply: think ROH. They have/ had a few sets in their range that fit. Just remember to test fit before buying anything.
EDIT: To the OP, I don't recall anyone here, fitting AWD brakes to the rear of their wagon so far, so I'd be making sure that that conversion can/ has been done before splashing out on expensive Brembo's for the rear. I know that when Mal & I looked before, it didn't appear as if it was going to be as straight forward as on the FWD's. Perhaps see if BrettH has completed his, as I know he had it in mind to do it?

You can go a little wider/lower offset than the 'norm' you just have to be prepared to run a decent amount of camber at the front and stretch the tyres eg.i run a 9'' wide rim with +27 offset with a 235/40 tyre, sure the gaurds look a little full with a bit of poke but it doesn't look stupidly obvious.
I would of thought that off-set would have the fronts well & truly hanging out, even with some neg. camber.

About 10mm on the right and 15mm on the left thats with -2.5deg on both sides.
Yep that makes sense, cause my track day +30's hang out about 8mm. Hope to find something i like around +38 for my roadies.
How are the tyres wearing with that camber? I'm only running -1 atm & wouldnt mind trying a little more.

The inner edges are pretty much stuffed now lol just waiting on a group buy of AD08's to finish up so i can replace them.

As Alscall says, I've got some AWD rear brakes in the garage waiting to get them on my TH wagon, I've just been too busy to look into the modifications so far.
To fit them you need the spacer as per for a FWD sedan, but Mal came across an extra problem in that the brake lines connect to the caliper in a different spot. When the AWD rotor/caliper is fitted the brake line exits on the side of the caliper and runs straight into the rear springs.
Will likely need the caliper machined back, a new washer seat cut in and line then fitted with enough clearance, or maybe a slight chance some kind of custom line would work?
Found a brake place on Friday that should be able to do the work just gotta get around to taking it in for them to look at.
Once fitted I'll post up details and info.
Whilst the front brakes do most of the work, the difference between the stock non-vented rears and the AWD's will hopefully still be worthwhile.
I'll do some before and after testing anyway if I can find the time.
