Hi guys,

I remember a few years ago my friend had a KH Verada which idled somewhat poorly in D (was fine in P or N) and in 1st gear the acceleration was somewhat jerky.

Anyway, at the time I remember that it was a common problem no one knew anything about, and wondering whether there has been any light on the matter more recently?

Thanks

My TF had it when i had my 3.0L engine in her, mine was an odd one but it was fine under choke then when the car was warm, the idle would drop to 200-300 when i stopped then slowly rise to around 400-500 rpm but when in neutral it would idle around 800-900. Mine was the switch for the fan had a short, Mal found it out after we did my engine conversion.

What you could try is removing your throttle body and cleaning it up, also pulling the ISC or TPS off the throttle body and cleaning them up. They could be dirty and giving the ECU a wrong reading. hope that helps mate!

i had similar issues, it turned out to be a oxygen sensor.

Did your fuel consumption get better?
I thought with a faulty o2 sensor the car would run rich and blow black smoke?

I haven't driven it much but i did not appear to improve the fuel consumption. still around 14.5l/100kms but it runs like new now.

That is pretty high consumption though...
I remember my friend changed driveshafts and did a gearbox flush and it helped considerably, almost eliminating the problem but it never was quite as smooth at idle as you would expect considering how well it drove
