Hi All,

Had the Verada overheat today, called RACV and they had a look at the car. The Water Pump is gone.
Looking at replacing this myself was wondering if anyone has:

1/Done this change before, is it hard? Has anyone got instructions?
2/ I have called and got a quote for about $600 is this about right?
3/ The tools and parts i will need to change this (besides the water pump)

Thanks:D

Never done it myself but from what I understand it's just a bit more than changing the timing belt....and to do this you need a fair mechanical knowledge and a fair sort of toolbox. Best help I can give is to direct you to the free downloadable workshop manual.....http://www.lisho.net/?page_id=3
Hopefully you will get more replies.
PS....welcome to the forum.

From what i have heard alot has to be removed just to gain access to the part..

Any help would be great as i might have a more better look towards the end of the week

Thanks for the welcome:)

Cheers guys

If your timing belt and seals are going to be due for a change at any time in the future, do the lot now, as as Hako said it's basically the same procedure and time to get to the belts etc.
I believe when I had this all done on my 2nd gen it cost me about $800 (though that was probably quite a good price)

For 600 i can do this complete with timing belt and all seals. Are you sure is water pump more to the point is the car losing coolant at all as water pump being gone would usually leave puddles everywhere unles impellor has failed which can not be seen until apart

I say go with MadMagna and do your timing belt while your at it. What Km's has your car got on it?
