Had an issue tonight where I was attempting to see if I could get a "cloning" remote to copy our remote, but our remote isn't responding to presses 90% of the time; anyway, alarm went off for some reason when I was pressing buttons (just lock/unlock), and I couldn't turn it off as the remote was stuffing up. Tried opening the car with the key, and the alarm kept going. Eventually got the remote to work, but begs the question, how can I turn off an activated alarm if the remote stops responding?

Thanks, thought that may have been the case but with the stress of the alarm going off and the remote not responding and the key in the door not working, didn't give it a try.
Any thoughts as to why the alarm went off with just pressing the lock/unlock buttons? I want to avoid it happening again when trying to see if this cloning remote can work. Problem being most of the button presses don't seem to be getting through, so need to be near the car to see if the buttons are working, to then make sure the clone remote should actually be seeing a signal.
