View Full Version : New Springs and Shocks for a TJ?
Hey guys,
I've got an '02 TJ Exec. and my shock absorbers need replacing; I want to put on some performance gear (both springs and shocks) so it sits a bit lower and handling, braking etc. becomes sharper.
Can anyone recommend decent parts that will give me what i'm looking for, without costing a fortune?
Cheers

Hey mate..
To be honest.. Coilovers would be the best bet. For the extra couple of hundred you spend, you'll have complete control of what's going on.. Damper, height etc.
Ksport Coilovers $1300-1400
Koni Inserts & Dobinson Springs will set you back approximately $1000-$1200
You can go Boge & Dobinson springs, they're supposedly a great value combo with good results. Parts wise you could get away with under <$1000
If you want concrete pricing.. Head over to http://www.mitsfix.com/ or MitsFix in the sponsor section.. You'll get a price for all those setups..
Good Luck!

Ralliart Konis with King SP might be another option, too.
Cool I shall look into those, thanks for your help :)

Recently bought King Lows and Boge shocks (f&r) for my TL from Mal at Mits-fix. Great guy, very helpful and good price. Cost me under $900, and that included getting them shipped from Vic to QLD. Very happy.

If you want to get out of it a bit cheaper but still get a good ride, Lovell Sport lows and KYB shocks will set u back about 600, add a front stabiliser I think about 135, if u do the work yrself less than 1k with new bump stops, people will try to sell you a camber kit but unless yr on the track don't bother. Find some squared off tyres like Kumho make and yl get a lot of rubber on the road. A simple setup like this will give u a much better feel and better stopping
