How often do you use injector cleaner? I have used it 3 times in the last 3 and a half years and the last time i did so i read on the bottle that they recommend to use it every 4th tank.
Also is it worth using or should i go to a mechanic and get a professional fuel system clean?

TS V6. 230,000 km. injector cleaner used = Zero.
TJ 115,000 km. injector cleaner used = Zero.
I don't see the need - if one clogs up, you will certainly know in the idle smoothness. Then pull the lot, get them done off the car.
"Use it every 4th tank" - yes, they would say that. lol Sell more!!!

Some people say use it, some people say don't. I use it every now and again as sometimes it feels like the car gets a shit tank of fuel. It doesnt hurt to use it, and it can be much much cheaper than having to pull the top off the engine to have it done by a mechanic. I wouldnt be using it every 4th tank though lol

Never used it. I use 95 octane or 98 octane fuel which has cleaning agents in the fuel as it is.
I would get my injectors cleaned with Mal if i had a problem with idle, i'd never flush a random chemical through the system tho.

Unluckily though, Mal is far far away from most of us. And luckily, a mix of chemicals in a marked and sealed bottle doesn't make them random ;)

Use it if you want to. Just remember:
(a) Petrol already has additives to keep things clean.
(b) What you add, will be much diluted by the petrol and be in contact with the bits that clog up for only microseconds every time the injector does its injecting.
(c) If there is any effect at all, it certainly won't improve idle or fuel consumption if an injector has a worn pintle/needle.

If your car's running like crap, otherwise every timing belt change seems like a good way to do thing.

I used to get inproved economy running Moreys injector cleaner and upper cylinder lube, although this was in an isuzu trooper running a 4ZE1 2.6l carby, so not sure on our motors.
