looked at the mitsubishi workshop manual and found there is a diff cover, where would that be on the transmission.

is there a way to get the diff out without taking out the transmission

as far as im concerned there isnt a way to remove it with the tranny still in the car. the cover faces the firewall from memory and is an elongated egg / rectangle shape i think. you would struggle to get it off in the car let alone get the diff out.

besides if you have done a diff i wouldn't think the rest of the tranny would be much better. second problem with it on the car is really you need a spotless environment thats dirt free to do anything to an auto if you want it to survive for very long.

will a diff from a te on auto fit the 94 magna's auto or can the te auto parts be used to rebuild a older auto

The auto boxes on the 3rd gens are on the opposite sides of the car so they wont fit automatically, dont know about using the internals though.
