Hi guys, can somebody tell me what the headlight bulb size is? Are they H4 or H11. I've got a set of H4 and they don't seem to fit snug into the housing.

Yea i bought some H4 but they seem like they don't want to sit in there snug so i can clip them down. I've clipped both sides down, one is reflecting in the air and the other is reflecting downwards. I have no clue what to do >_>

If the replacement lamp look like old lamp that come out means it the right lamp. Now you can adjust your headlight, it should be a painless task. Read up about it in the service manual for your car :) I has no clue what the right lamp is for your 380. But the service will have the headlight lamp list in it. I direct you in the right place tomorrow. As it late I'm tired :)

Thanks for replying Spark. I had my bulbs go out on me and my uncle happened to have h4 hids. I got them put in but he seemed to have trouble putting them in since there wasnt much space. He also had problems fitting them in so the bulbs fit perfectly. So the lights are working but not quiet happy at where the light are aimed at. For the sake of safety on the roads, I really want to get them fixed ASAP!
But thanks for replying, much appreciated.

Its sad to say ,that because of the stupid clip design and such as small working area, you may have to resort to actually taking your lights off to get the bulbs and clips to sit properly, adjusting then wont do any thing .....
Not a big job, done it about eight times now,you just have to be patient.
Oh,as a hint ...ALL the under trays need to be removed and the bumper dropped off,or lowered ,so you can get to the side mounting bolts of the headlights.
just saw you put hid in them, take them out as they really dont work at all in the 380 lights.
Want HID,you will have to retrofit projector lenses in there.

I've replaced one or both H4s about six times now.
Initially I couldn't manipulate the spring clip without stuffing it up or ripping it out, but now I've got the hang of it and can change both H4s in about 60 seconds. (Thanks maggie/Michael for fixing my stuffed driver's side clip!).
The secret to getting them to seat properly is to have a good look at one that is in correctly (looks like you will need another 380 for this!) and see exactly how it sits front on.
Then, when putting the new ones in, make sure the spring clip is swung all the way back out of the way. Do it gently so it doesn't fall out of the retaining slots, coz it's a real prick to get back in if this happens.
Then gently manoever the new bulb into place, making sure it's pushed all the way in (towards the front of the car).
Most times you put it in slightly off centre (twisted a little clockwise or anti-clockwise, I can't remember which), seat it, then gently twist it so it is aligned "straight up and down". Again have a look at a properly fitted bulb to see what I mean.
Then gently swing the spring clip back over, pushing it 'in and down' to clip it in properly.
Then check the bulb fit & alignment from the front, it should be sticking out into the lens as far as possible and aligned straight.
If it's not straight or fully seated you can usually wiggle & twist it a bit from the back, with the plug attached, without having to pull it out again & start from scratch. Just do it gently otherwise you risk stuffing up the spring clip.
KJ.

Cheers for the help boys. I've come down a conclusion. Either get the Phillips Blue Vision Ultra $75, or the Narva Ultra Blue $55. Personally i do not know what the end results or lifespan are like, so im asking your guys to help me and let me know what you guys think of these products. Planning to get them done tomorrow, so hopefully i can get as much feed back as i can before then!

I like Phillips Blue Vision Ultra, but people are saying they dont last long and most people prefer the Narva ones. So um yeah, either will do the job :D

Haha, just now i decided to drop the Narva and go for the Philips. But the only problem now, is deciding whether i want Blue Vision or Diamond Vision, zzz. I was something with a tinge of blue white partial white. Not something thats gonna light up the whole road with Smurfs. It is hard to decide since their are no photographic images of these results in the headlamp and on the road, so i cannot decide. God this is annoying hahaha

There good Tangy, I like them there nice and white. Unfortunately I don't have any photos what so every, but I may be able to take a photo tonight. My headlight are little out of whack and I own a TR, so the pattern they make on the ground may vary from your car.

I've tried a few different H4s, including Calibre Xenon Blue (from SCA), Narva Ultra Blue, Philips Blue Vision and Diamond Vision.
The Calibre, Narva & Blue Visions are/were all OK with a distinct blue tinge, but the Diamond Visions are the best of the lot.
Maybe not quite as blue looking as the rest but a distinctly brighter white light.
And if you shop around on eBay you can get them pretty cheap from OS, usually with free delivery.

Cheers for the reply mate. Just purchased the Ultra Blue now, gonna get them installed tomorrow morning so that i stop blinding people with my incorrectly fitted 8000k HID. When these bust out on me i will definitely put those diamond vision philips in, since i was debating whether to get Philips or Narvas earlier. Thanks for the help and feeds guys. Let you guys know how they are, or even possibly post up some snaps if i dont get them to glare out at me.

lol If we all followed the rules as to what is legal or not, half the cars on here would be off the road.
Its like all mods you do,you do so at your own risk, and ,lets face it ,now cays with so many cars running around with factory projectors and hid ,chances of being pinged for running a light that is a bit whiter than 90% of the cars is getting slimmer and slimmer.
Have a look next time you drive around at night and see how many std cars have really bright white lights.

I bought a set of Narva Blue Plus 90's today from Supercheap. Might go for a drive a bit later to see how they do but the weather has turned crappy here :(
Still might go Platinums for the H7 high-beams though, will see how I feel.

So guys i just put new Narva Ultra Blues in, and i'd say there pretty good. Light output is pretty good, has the HID affect on signs on the road. The light is white/gray affect with a blue look in the headlight since the bulb is blue and is reflected all round. Not sure why they are not approved as i feel there not even glaring or blinding as much as the new Honda Euros etc. Overall the globes are nice. I'd like to try the Diamond next.
