There might be a need to do some work where it merges with the cat. From what I've seen mentioned so far, it's not a direct bolt on.

Correct Redav.

You need to cut about 10mm back from the cat and weld the Pacemakers onto the cat.

535 for a set of Pacemakers? Crikeys!!

Where do you live? Source your Pacemaker wholesaler man.. You should beable to pick them up for $380

That seems rather low for a Midas price. I called my local one and I was right, it is low for a Midas price. He quoted me $850 for Pacemakers supplied and installed.

whast the story with these extractors ?

they need flanges n gaskets n ****, gonna rake up another $150 on that gear.....

MrB

I was quoted $490 installed 5 months ago.
Have they had a price change since then?

They normally only replace the flange gaskets. Normally don't need to replace the manifold gaskets cause they are steel.

and from what i can tell from bain's photos it looks like they supply flange gaskets.

MRB: i beleive about 3 o 4 months ago pacemakers had a significant price increase in their products. I picked up my pacemaker extractors for $300 mid last year and it cost me $100 to get them installed.

im just saying that is the cost price from pacemakers to the shops plus then they put thier mark up on that price to

and then gave me the $340 figure so i dont know if that is a good price just supply im lookin at about 200 to get it fitted at 3 to 4 hour labour

if it takes your mechanic 3 to 4 hours to do it then change mechanics. 2 hours, maybe 2.5 hours tops.

Wow, $340 for the pacemakers supplied is a really good price. However, you can probably get them installed much cheaper than $200.

wow so i got mine for $300 then that was a good price i asume, $200 for labour is bull crap. 3-4 hours is he disabled or something?

3-4 hours is he disabled or something?

exactly my point! when midas fitted mine, they hadn't done a magna before but it still only took them 1.5 hours, and that includes smoke breaks.

But at Midas is really depends on which branch you go to. Some may give you good value for money and quality work. Others may differ quite a bit.
