Are you talking about the strip that surrounds the A/C vents and Clock?

ok, you take off your instrument cluster front trim cover off, the part you can touch near steering wheel, there is 2 bolts on the top either side, that bit comes out easy.

after you do that, there is 3 bolts each side, 2 near the back and 1 in the middle sticking futher out, the one in the middle that sticks more out controls the entire trim that goes along the whole console ( for the air vents)

Once you have sorted that out, you need to take off the passenger glove box, to do that, you need to take 2 screws off the bottom of the hatch just to get the hatch compartment off.

After that, there is 2 screws up top either side of the glovebox, plus gotta take 2 screws off for the hatch bit where that clips on, and then theres 2 hex screws on the back wall you gotta take off, once you have taken those off, the entire glove box should be off then.

Then, you just need to look above where your glovebox was sitting once, and there is your 2 wing nuts, the one nearest to the door is a bit hard to get to because there is a bit of a air vent blocking your vision, you need to move that about (the air vent leads to the side of the console) and out of the way to get access to that wing nut, the one closer to the center of the car is easily seen and unscrewed, after all that, should easily pop right out.
