View Full Version : Car wouldn't start. Worked in Neutral?
This morning, my 2nd gen Executive seemed to have a flat battery. Two days ago I removed the batter a few times but put it back and used it and used it again yesterday. This morning it would start. I though I may have put the battery in wrong so I cleaned terminals and screwed it back in. It still wouldn't start. Then I tried it in neutral and it started first time. This was quite weird.
Why? What's wrong so I know how to fix this problem?
Cheers Lydz

If its an auto, they are not supposed to start in any gear except Neutral or Park!
If its a manual, you probably have an immobiliser/steering lock problem. Try taking the key out - should hear a hefty clunk - and putting it back in, next time it does that.
Auto. I was in Park when I was trying to start it. It wasn't steering locked either.

its a faulty switch
get another one from the wreckers
its on the gearbox underneath the selector cable end
held on by two 10 mm bolts and some wireing

I'll be bringing the white Verada down on Friday night and putting it in the shed. Saturday morning I'll 'probably' be training it back and bringing my green car down so I've got something that's I can legally drive on weekends.
