Howdy fella's

I've got a 95 Magna which my wife drives to work on a daily basis, with out fault until today.
She notice the temp was 3/4 on the way home, and when I had a look underneath it was dripping out water at a decent rate.
From what I can see its not a radiator hose, but I cant see the leak.

I can tell you its at the back of the motor, and is dripping directly on to the exhaust...
I was thinking water pump?

Any idea's?

I havent worked on magnas at all mechanically, only falcons, it looks like a pretty big job..

cheers fellas macey

Macey,

Sounds like water pump is the problem, If it is a V6. get to it by removing usual drive belts and then cam belt covers and you will find it. paid $102.00 at Burson's for one 12months ago, pump only not the body. cheers majordad

the back of the block has 4 small welsh plugs

and a large one there are also heater pipes in the same area

above the starter motor and exhaust

inlet manifold has to come off as does the air conditioner and bracket
to get to the welsh plugs

What about heater hoses, that is where I got a considerable leak happening and they are at the back slightly to the passenger side. I had a split that would only pump out under pressure and was only and 1/8" long, but it made all the difference to the amount of water that came out! Bloody hoses!!! :(

Just thinking, if it is 4cyl, water pump is on the drivers side, at the end of the cylinder head, well away from the exhaust.
