Hi,

I am looking to install a new stereo head unit (sony) I been looking online for different s alternatives to keep the steering wheel control working with the new radio stereo.

1. Buy CAT10 adapter is around $220, http://www.thecat.net.au/cat10.htm

2. Buy PAC SWI-PS, is around $60. But I am not sure if this will work in the 380. In their website they have the instructions for the galant.

3. Aeropro has a control harness adapter for around $100 but the 380 is not listed, they have the adapter for other car models. However, I went to a car store and they guy said it will work.

Have you guys installed one of these??

I fitted the Pac Swips in the 380 and did a DIY(for a pioneer tho) on it too, mine is the older unit and a tiny bit slow, the new one is much faster I hear.
Works very well.

My new Orion AVR6.1 deck says it's compatible with resistive steering wheel controls, which I believe the 380 uses. Will be installing the deck on the weekend so should know by the end if it works or if I need to buy an adaptor.

yep , the 380 has resistance controls... 2 wires from the steering wheel/clock spring just gives different resistance values for which ever button is pressed.
i've converted my steering wheel buttons to USB , so each resistance value controls a different item in the car PC...
