Alrighty I've searched through the interwebz and the forum and tried a few things and still not getting anywhere.
So here's the issue the Radiator fan which is on the passenger side won't kick in resulting in a temperature rise when driving in traffic or low speed or even just hot days. When I have the Air Con on the drivers side fan kicks in like normal.

I have so far:
*Changed the radiator cap
*Flushed the radiator
*Changed the Fan (cos the other one was effed and I thought THAT was the issue, but it wasn't)
*Changed the thermostat
*Swapped Relays
*Changed some sensor thing

So now i'm rather frustrated as to what it is. Any help or ideas will be appreciated! Thanks in advance :D

Do you have a multimeter or globe with some triling wirres?

Check that 12v is "arriving" at the fan connection when engine is hot and diling for a long time

If "YES" then fan is faulty ELSE control circuit is faulty - have you checked the fuse which controls it, as well as swapping relays?

funny thing, i had the exact same issue with my VN commodore i owned, took me ages to work out the problem, then after i got so frustrated with it, i went to the wreckers and bought an ecu and it fixed the problem, found out that the fans were controlled through the ecu, maybe the same with the magnas?

I'm a chick, I don't have a tool shed lol So no, I don't have a multimeter so can't check and have checked the fuse and looks good to me :)

Dude, seriously... Never compare a Magna to a Commo.

well, i guess thats what i get for trying to help lol, but "dude" seriously, the fans are controlled through the ecu, if all else looks good, try getting 1 from the wreckers and see, or get it tested

mine was showing very high on the gauge itself , and I swapped the gauge sensor for a new genuine one and now its mint , also a water pump that's failing can cause less flow through the system and create higher temps

Both fans are controlled by the ECU. The voltage being supplied to the fan needs to be checked all the way back from the fan to the ECU, as it could be a faulty connector or broken wire. Jaycar has inexpensive multimeters ($20 or less) adequate for diagnosing car electrical problems; I should imagine DSE does too. Multimeters can also be used to check the operation of sensors as well.

have a look at the 40amp i think green fusible link where the relays are in the engine bay mine have popped a few times.

Well the only person who was close was telpat16....

In the end it was a voltage drop between the fuse and the relay.... who would have thought!!! So all good now, just thought i'd post up for future reference!!

Can you please explain a bit more - like were the fuse or relay connections bad or corroded, was the cable frayed...why exactly was the voltage dropping?
