They are held on by double sided tape. You could use a flat bladed scraper under the edge of the dadge and pull up. You need to carefully scrape the left over double sided sticky stuff off, and clean the paint with mineral turps. You will instantly regret doing this (unless you have some new replacement badges) as the paint will be a different colour due to fade. So, unless you are repainting the car or have badly damaged dadges you are replacing with new ones, I would not do it.

This is what I did.. others may have other ideas...
What you need:
- A bottle of bug and tar remover - or some kind of equivalent solvent for removing the badge adhesive..
- Fishing line - at least 50cm (not too thick - we're not catching a shark..)
- Hair dryer
Best to do it on a warm/hot day.. sit your car in the sun so the boot and the badges are warmed up.. failing this, warm them up with a hair dryer.. WARM them up.. no need to melt them or damage the paint.. Using the fishing line.. Making sure it's thin enough to squeeze behind the badge.. you want to slide the line behind the top corner of the badge and in a 'saw-like' action make your way down to the bottom.. basically, your 'slicing' the badge away from the contact adhesive it's held on there with.. be gentle.. and try and get as close to the boot lid as you can, that way there'll be less adhesive left behind... once the badge is off.. remove the left over adhesive with the bug and tar remover.. this could take a while.. and take many attempts... but I found that taking my time worked better for not damaging the paint.. after you've got the adhesive off.. pop some polish on the badge spots and shine them up to match the rest of the boot lid :woot:
have fun!!

As Madmax said above.. If you're boot lid is badly faded.. may not be such a good idea... If it's just a lil bit faded.. polish it till your arms fall off lol

If it looks crapola removed because of fade, pop the badge back on, or get a new one from a dealer. Upgrade the TR at the same time, with a "AWD" badge, or a "3.5" badge. lol Or a "TURBO" or "BMW" emblem from a wreckers. lol lol Go beserk! lol NO Chevvy or GMC badges though.
