i have been trying to change the time on the stereo in my 99 magna and ive tried everything can anyone help, driving me up the wall?

just a cassette player in a TH 3.5 litre V6 executive dont want to disconnect battery as it throws out my fuel stats

car never came with a owners manual, no one i know still has the manual to theirs. love my car never thought a magna would have as much power as this thing does, the things a weapon. The stereo is the only thing that lets it down my dad and brothers are mechanics and engineers and have no idea? I contacted mitsubishi and they gave me the stereo code so i can disconnect the battery and do it that way, but i dont want to have to do that everytime daylight savings comes in or out. everyone says get a new stereo but i dont see the point. when i can plug my ipod straight in through the imput jack. thanks for your help anyway!!!
