Hello Everyone!

I have a problem with my TJ Sports. The past week I have been noticing that when I stop at the lights and speed up again my magna does a sort of bunny hop and sends the RPM gauge ballistic. I am soft on the accelerator (so that's not a factor) and have been keeping the car in great condition.

Any ideas on what could be happening?

Check fluid level in gear box, if ok check TPS. If its the wave spring, it will just get worse until the car won't go anymore.

Would the wave spring be an issue on a 108,000km car? I only ask because I have very limited knowledge about that sort of stuff. Cheers MadMax!

Check the simple stuff first. Wave spring can fart up on you at anytime, no rhyme or reason why some are good forever and others die young.

My TJ is at 115,000 km. OK so far.

I think Mitsubishi should do a recall on the wave spring issue, and serve us tea or coffee and biscuits while we wait for them to replace that spring. Dancing girls at the same time would be nice too, but you can't expect too much from Mitsu. lol

Haha that would be nice! I'ts not the fluid in the gear box and I don't have the tools to check the TPS properly. I should probably go see a mechanic who can help me out.
