Hi guys, I did a search on this topic without any luck. I am planning to replace the sound system in my 2003 verada gtvi, but don't know how to replace the rear speakers. Is there any DIY manual floating around anywhere? Thanks in advance.

Its easy really, the speaker covers are held down by nuts, under the rear parcel shelf accessed from inside the boot, they then lift and twist out from the the top.
The speaker screws are a bit harder, but the screws should be a hex head with a philips head in the centre so a tool like this comes in handy.

you can use either the philips bit or the correct socket, if you use the philips bit, either magnetize the head, or use blutak on the tip, to save losing the screws.
As for the wire, you may need to extend the wire or remove the OEM clip, soldering is the best way to add more wire.
I found a thread here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62264&highlight=socket) too

Also helps to remove the rear parcel shelf by first removing the back seat which has 2 clips under the front that you pull out. Then to remove the back part there's a screw on each side and one in the middle, then the whole thing has to slide up, as it sits on hooks. You can then just bend the sides of the parcel shelf to move it off.

Thanks guys for the info.
I think there are three screws on top of parcel shelf as well that holds the speakers.

After checking different places, I have decided to install my car audio myself.
My car is a Verada GTVi 2003 sedan.
I have decided to install: Alpine head unit, front alpine S type splits, 6 x 9 alpine rear, Alpine F250 AMP
Is there a DIY guide somewhere to:
1. Remove the front Door and installing splits
2. Remove the parcel shelf and installing 6 x 9?
I am a knob in this.
I have already installed the HU and got some idea installing the AMP.

You won't need to actually remove the parcel shelf to install the 6x9s - read through Shoot's response carefully. The other info re removing front door trims has been covered, do a search via Google and narrow the results down to pages from this forum if you aren't able to find the info via the search engine on this site.

There is some dicussion on how to run the run the power cabling through a magna Here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86815&p=1375176&highlight=Grommet#post1375176).
Disconnect your Positive when work with the Power.
Although there is links on various ways to do it, other than the way I was shown, the other method require you to run power cable along the firewall and looks very untidy, the only thing you should really know know is it is a legal requirement to fuse all power running through a firewall, placing the fuse within 20cm or 8" of the battery + is the norm, the earth does not need fuses.
And the Amp earth should be short < 30cm, and the same Ga as the Positive, and done last, once you've decided where to put the Amp, also consider upgrading The Big Three.
You should (required) make a Chassis to Battery Negative return.
Care should be taken when installing Fronts in the doors, to make sure the speakers line up with the speaker holes well, If your door cards vibrate too much, thats a lot a wasted sound energy.
Awesome discussion here. (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84017) Note, these are for the more passionate installs, but good to know, none the less.
A great place for tweeters is the verada tweeter Pods/sails/mounts. Search those. Or pics in my rides thread. Grab the little mounts too, they are very helpful for mounting. (Note to self, Derr, you have a Rada)
Dont run the speaker cable next to the Rca's, The speakers run on AC current, Bad for noise induction, I'd go RCA's to the right, speaker wire middle, Power Left Side. Get The RCA's clear of the ECU (lower front firewall) As soon a s possible to avoid noise induction.
Speaker cable can be ran next to the power, they say, as power in the speaker cable is too great to be interfered with by other power noise, hence why speaker cable is unsheilded.
Last of all, for a newbie, find a car audio shop that tunes a car with a Oscilloscope, should cost about 50 bucks, this will ensure you are sending clean signal and unclipped power to speakers and will allow your gear to last a long time. No matter what the volume.
Record their settings, with diagrams or pictures, should you get adventurous.
Small systems done tidily, with neat wiring look more impressive than Huge installs in a mess.

Door trim removal (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77063&p=1211168&highlight=Three+door+skin#post1211168)
Three screws, one in the door pull cavity, one in the handle surround, which also needs to removed, by sliding the surround forwards a little while holding the handle open, and the last in the venting cavity. Unpop all the clips, starting at bottom middle, lift up out of window seal, unclip wiring looms. Refit is done in reverse with the window down. Taking care to realign before fitting screws or the handle surround won't reassemble correctly.

Heres the way to remove the Tweeter covers, I see so many of these broken its not funny. Its the technique, not force that gets these off unbroken.
Only pull the top of the triangle inwards toward to centre of the car (1cm or so) its held in by a rubber lug then lift it up gently out of the two keyways at the bottom, you won't see these til it's out completely.
Take a good look at the bottom T-Tabs (keyways), and how it re-assembles. The bottom of the pod needs to dropped into these first when its time for it to back on, then press the top back into the keeper lug.
