Hi, even though the boot is closed the light stays on (looked through the ski port) and the alarm won't arm (beeps to say something is still open). I have loooked all around but I can't find the switch that is used to indiicate the boot is closed.
Any idea where it is? I assume is a pin or similar that sticks up and is pressed down/in when the boot lid closes.
Cheers

Nope, no pin. Switch is in the lock mechanism itself.

OK, thanks I will have another look tomorrow
Any ideas how to fix this as a mates vrx is doing the exact same thing. Havent checked to see if his boot light is on though

H, had a proper look at the boot latch today (on the underside of the boot lid). On the left side is a single wire which is obviously connected to a switch inside the latch that must move when the boot is latched or unlatched. Appears when the boot is closed the switch is moved so the boot light goes out which is on the same circuit as the alarm checking the boot is closed.... so if the boot iopen then the light is on so the alarm won't arm.
I pulled the connector off (the tab you press to release the connector is on the top of the cnnector and was a little fiddly to get to). Now the light never comes on and the alarm always arms when set.
But the alarm will now not be triggered when the boot opens as the circuit for the light/alarm is not connected. So this is a temporary fix only.
On the other side of the latch is the cable that is pulled to open the boot when the electric boot opener is triggered. Prior to unplugging the connector, I played around with this to find the right position/combination that allowed the electric boot release to work, and turned the light on or off as the boot opened or closed - tip use a screwdriver shaft to manually move the locking mechansim instead of actually opening and closing the boot lid). Seems the real problem is here - moving or loosening the boot open cable meant the opener didn't work allthought he light went on and off correctly. Adjusting it tighter (but refitting the white plastic cable guide in a different slot in its mount) always left the light on (so can't tthen set the alarm) so was a bit annoying. Perhaps the cable is stretched or the spring is too weak now - I dunno.
Will play another day. Hope this helps a bit. If you suss it out on your buddies car, can you post the result for me?
Cheers from NZ
