Like the title say car will crank couple times before to start! (like the battery is flat)
I thinks is something electrical, cos the dvd player will reset all the settings (like you disconnect the power and then you connect it back on), The ECU is NOT resetting and the battery is near new and is not flat!
What could be?
Thanks

When was the last time you had your battery tested with a multi-meter?

If it's not the battery, ti could be the starter motor, alternator or alternator regulator.

My money is on ECU, Alarm, or terminals

I think it will have something to do with the immobilizer, check the wiring going into the BEM and maybe try unplugging them then plugging back in see if it makes any difference.:)

Had a similar fault. Turned out the be a faulty/dead chip in key which was causing the immobilizer to, well... immobilze. Perhaps you chip is on it's last legs. Try to spare key the start the car.

Describe near new.
I would still suspect the battery as the symptoms describe a low battery voltage.
Get it checked. Can you swap the battery with another car to be sure.

What is the CCA of the new battery?

could even be a bad or loose earth

Try another key on your key ring...:ninja:

No seriously, try a spare key. Could be that or a loose connection by the sounds of it. Check battery again, terminals, Alternator then ECU.

yes its last week or so its been barley starting and it seem like the battery dying when starting
Yeah mine was doing this for a few weeks before the starter died.... was like rrr-rrr-rrr--rrr- vrrooommm! Same symptoms of a dying battery...
If its a manual you could try and roll start it, gotta be careful when doing this though, gotta make sure you can stop the car safely if it doesn't start!

Thanks to "ziek", today we check the battery and when i turn the aircon on it drains a LOT of voltage, drive the car with the aircon off and it's starts fine!
Hmmm....... what could be?

You havent answered my question, what is the CCA value of the battery?

Could look like a stupid question, but what is the "CCA"?

Cold crank amps. The battery might not have the guts to turn the engine over

I read on the battery the cca was 450, of course i don't have a load tester here, he will have to get that done, but i don't think thats the issue, with everything off, car idling, the battery is charging at 14.3 volts, turn off the engine, and it holds 12.8 volts. same test with the stereo on, everything else off, engine idle, 14.3 volts, turn off the stereo, turn on the climate control, engine idle, and it was like hitting high beam with spotties on. turn off the climate control, turn off the engine, battery holds 12.8 volts, turn on the climate control, engine not running, and the battery drops to 10 volts and keeps dropping, we actually took it down to 9.2 volts. turn off the climate control and the battery comes back to 10.6 volts. sseby34 did a climate conversion not long ago, and not long after that he noticed this problem, if it was me, i would take the climate control head unit out. and re-run the test. there is a voltage leak from the looks of things, and it looks like the climate control is the culprit.
