Now i have your attention i'd like to ask those who did not previously have a sunroof on their car if they had one put in.
The reason i ask is that i plan to have a sunroof put on my car and i'd like to know how much people had paid (not exactly but a price range) and if it was done "themselves" (meaning professionally) or by a mechanic. (Who does it anyway?)
All comments, help etc appreciated!

If you want a good brand electric you'll be looking around $2000-$2500 supplied and fitted depending on the brand.Pop Up style around $500 supplied and fitted depending. There are some electric ones floating around on ebay for $250 they are fitted the same as a pop up style so they are easy to fit.I have a factory verada one i am going to fit into my magna at a later date but there is a bit of work involved welding etc but it can be done.

Are you going to be paying someone to do it? Is there someone who actually fits them?

No i will be doing it myself. The last pop up style i had fitted which was years ago i took it to an auto trimmer and he fitted it for me.

I'm not very handy so i think i'll get someone to fit it for me. And do you remember if it was costly? And by pop-up i assume you mean a manual sunroof rather than electric?

I got one that was in the car already. It was an aftermarket one i believe it could be a hollianda one it has been don properly with all the drain tubes in place on each corner of the roof. Unfortunetly it doesn't shut properly and i have to use the vent and open buttons to close it properly. I've had a look and tried to adjust the slider's with no luck. I am trying to find some one who knows more then what they will charge me to fix it

My current Ralliart has an aftermarket one installed, and IIRC it was under $1500. Will dig around for the receipt and see if i can get more info for you.

I believe the best way, and works out similar in price, is to get a roof cut from a factory fitted car, have a panel beater remove your roof skin and replace with the factory one, bolt it all in and you are done
Have sold one personally for a magna and one for a 380 thus far and both owners are very happy

Yes it was well under $1500 as it was a secondhand one from a KH Verada wagon that I sold to the previous owner. New price would have been much more

Looks good, $2100 seems reasonable, is it a Hollandia 700?. Re: picture display, upload your photos to tinypic or similar, then copy the URL (the 'forums' one) into the message text, easy. By the way, really like your rims... what size are they?

Got a tip on how to do pic's so all good now but thanks anyway mate:happy: yeah the sunroof is so nice to have & definatly worth the coin, its not a hollandia 700 they are also good sunroofs but I used one that doyles import themselves called the S800 (they dont state the brand)which is a very similar product, both are made in korea I believe of very good quality by the looks of them, they fit this one to lots of new commodores/nissans through car dealers here in sydney & have a 3 year warranty, not sure if doyles are in SA but worth a look.
Wheels are 18"x7.5" 38+ offset, perfect for magnas 67.5mm centre hub because they are from a mitsubishi showgun (our pajero io) in the UK imported by a place called 'top ten tyres' in sydney, I was aiming for a later model look & hopefully ive achieved that.
Cheers mate for the responce;)

Well, I think the wheels look great on your car - haven't seen them on any other Magna's, so nice work picking them. What did they set you back?

Havent seen them on any other magnas either but I did see a random picture of a 2002 diamante vrx on google images with same wheels(not sure what country the car was in though).
from what I can tell mits last used them on the 2005 pajero io(5 stud) & pajero/challenger(6 stud) from the UK, I paid $800 brand new in box for them.
Place I bought them from import dicontinued factory rims from overseas as well as selling after market wheels.
They still got some stock left if your interetsed, they'l look gr8 on your TL for sure.
