Hello,
I am new to all this stuff but thought I will give it a go. I checked my ATF fluid dipstick today and noticed that there is almost none on the end of the dipstick (after following the procedure in the owner's manual to check).

Can someone please explain to me how to drain and then refill the ATF fluid? And do I also need to change the transmission filter?

I have a 2004 TL Magna VR-X AWD.

Thanks,
Michael

Transmission filter is internal in these boxes unfortunately - cant get at them easily :(

The flush proceedure is easy - remove one of the trans cooler lines from the radiator cooler - start and stop the engine basically. remembering to only run for super short times - and keep topping the trans up with fresh fluid - expect to flush about 15L of fluid through it.
The alternative is to go to mitsubishi and get them to do a power flush if you are not that conffident at doing it yourself (its a 2 person job - one to watch the flow of fluid out of the box when the engine is running.. the other is to kill the engine on signal.)
I have now done it several times on a few differennt cars - its not that hard to do really.
