Standard Magnas use a H4 bulb.
I would go a 35w kit (most kits are either 35w or 55w). HIDs will annoy other motorists, but the 35ws will be less painful.
I would recommend a 4300-5000k degree kit. 6000k at the maximum. The higher the number, the bluer the light - but you lose light output the bluer you go, and your chances of getting defected increase rapidly. 4300k is what factory fitted HIDs are, whereas 6000k have a bit of a blue tinge to them.
I have some photos of HIDs in my paras here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58568&p=1290674&viewfull=1#post1290674) and here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58568&p=1377333&viewfull=1#post1377333).
I have 6000k HIDS fitted to my standard lense and they are great lights! Couldn't fault them.
Have a look at jaycar.com.au if you are keen

You can get cheap ballasts or decent ones. The output and firing time make a huge difference to be honest. Well worth the money for phillips or similar. Go for around 5000K to 6000K. I personally see 6000 as the best of both worlds. Lower them towards the road and do an hour of testing over bumps etc with a mate in front, get him to let you know if they are annoying. Best and easiest test. But yeah anymore help PM me
