I headed off to work today and my car started fine. I pulled into 7-11 for a coffee and when I came to start the car again it was completely dead: no dash lights, no keyless entry, no clicking (I think).

I tried jumping it but it didn't do anything. The dash lights came on a little when connected but it still wouldn't start.

I then got my wife to take me to work, and my father in law had a look at the car. He tweaked the wires leading up to the starter solenoid and it started.

It's still starting, but I'm worried it will go again. I've got it booked in for the timing belt tomorrow, what should I get the mechanic to look for and what should I expect to need replacing?
