before i go buying a set of splits for my KF verada and demolishing everything to install them,
how do i go about installing these into the door + pods on the dash?
and any advice on purchasing a set of splits to run with and without an amp? (looking at around $150 ish since they are considerably cheap at the moment)

If you just want to run them off headunit power try and buy ones with a really high sensitivity rating, (measured in db, should be on the side of the box. The higher the sensitivity the more output you get out of them at low power). But really consider an amp for them, even if it is small, its a different ball game power wise. In my car I went to wreckers and found another 2nd gen with stock speakers in the doors and purchased the door cards out of it, simply took the bits i needed off the cards and cut holes in the first cards to hold 6.5" speakers. Placed stock covers from other car on top of them and it came up real nice :) Chuck some deadener in there if possible, or if your feeling up to it some MDF to reinforce things.
There are PLENTY of other dudes on here with wayy more experience than me and i hope that they chime in too and shed some wisdom.
Hope all goes well for you.

You might want to consider putting the tweeters into a set of the door 'sail' pods rather than the dash mounting spots (? would've thought the KF would have these, maybe not). They will be easier to fit & sound better. Look for some component speakers that have a sensitivity rating (as dkresto suggested) that is >= 90, and with a modest RMS power rating (e.g. 40w/RMS), if you're running them off of a headunit. These JVCs are an example:

(I have absolutely no idea if these speakers actually sound any good, just looking at specs!).

If you haven't already done so, search for verada tweeters, there is spot on the dash for tweeters' and a spot on the door, like my avatar, listen to a couple of cars,i.e. Verada in sale yards(wherever) and listen how the speakers sound setup like that, you might like it, might not. But it is an easy and ideal location option for you. (380 Mitsu beat me to it).
Hertz have splits that work well in magna’s' but there is also a review done by Mobile Electronics Australia Component speakers under 300, not saying its the be all and end all, but the article points out some things you should know about when choosing speakers for your car.

i havent had much luck finding any sail pods for the verada, and the dash pods just dont seem very comfortable to install and listen from after taking a look at them late this afternoon.
id rather have everything mounted inwards so its not as visible to everyone, but as for the cross overs, where could i mount those without many hassles?

Mine are in the door now. But you could mount them under the glove box, behind the little lkick panel, under the seats, any where. But below the glove box sound best.
And there was a pair of verada tweeters on that auction site.

I think Mal would have a few sets of tweeter pods, that's where I got mine. And to make it as simple as I could i stuck the crossovers inside in the door, on the metal panel below the window switch.

Agree, if you don't mount the tweeter in the dash, and choose the verada tweeter position, the door mounted crossover makes sense.
If you can get a hold of the tweeter mounts that the tweeter from the Rada is originally mounted on, the tweeter size limits is 32mm across and 21mm deep IIRC. (whatever the size of the original is) And will aid installation immensely.
